ANTIOCH BAPTIST CHURCH MISSION STATEMENT
The Antioch Baptist Church is empowered by the Holy Spirit to be a caring and compassionate body that is committed to worship, prayer, prophetic preaching, evangelism, discipleship, and missions .
EDUCATION MINISTRY
Christian Education: The Christian Education Ministry seeks to provide a network of people within our church providing support, encouragement, and accountability to our membership as they seek to grow in Christ (Matthew 28:19; Eph. 4:11).
Church School: We seek to enlist the saved and the unsaved in the study of God’s Word. We seek to provide a setting for the development and nurturing of persons of all ages and to prepare them to be a witness for Him.
New Members: The New Membership Ministry seeks to welcome, encourage and instruct our new members in the areas that will enable them to grow spiritually. We endeavor to teach the basic principles of faith and to help them identify their talent and abilities so that they will release them to God for His use and glory.
ENCOURAGEMENT MINISTRY
Encouragement Ministry: The “ENCOURAGEMENT MINISTRY” of the Antioch Baptist Church, Hampton, Virginia is a body of various ministries cooperatively designed primarily to provide for the personal needs of the congregation. In so doing, committed to creating an atmosphere of love and acceptance, whereby members are given a sense of belonging.
Bereavement Ministry: The Bereavement Ministry of the Antioch Baptist, Hampton, Virginia, is designed primarily to assist the Pastor in the caring and comforting of the dying and bereaved members, and friends. One must also be a counselor and confidante to the terminally ill, as well as the family. The effectiveness of the ministry to the dying and the bereaved, demands careful preparation, compassion, commitment, emotional strength and spiritual maturity
Gleaners Ministry: The Gleaners are dedicated to service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Pastor Lassiter, and to the ministries of Antioch Baptist Church. We serve by greeting and welcoming members and visitors, hosting anniversary and special occasions, and serving all capacities of the church wherever needed.
Health Care: The Health Care Ministry of the Antioch Baptist Church, Hampton, Virginia will promote good health awareness among the church body by sponsoring workshops, seminars, working with other ministries and providing instructions as needed.
Philippians Ministry: To be a friend to the Pastor and his family in sincerity and love. To pray for and create a church-wide attitude of caring for them with our time, talents, and gifts to the glory of God.
Women’s Ministry: The Women’s Ministry of Antioch seeks to minister to the whole woman, spiritually, mentally, physically. We encourage women to be role models for younger women in the church and the world.
Young Adult Ministry: The young adults of Antioch strive to maintain multigenerational relationships through fellowship, worship and praise to our Almighty God while fulfilling and upholding the mission of our church.
Youth Ministry: The Youth Ministry strives to develop the youth in the areas of evangelism, discipleship, and personal growth. Our objective is to minister to the whole person by meeting all the intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical needs of our children and youth.
EQUIPPING MINISTRY
Deaconess Ministry: Working alongside the Deacon Ministry in various types of educational charitable and social services to support the mission of our church; lending a helping hand; visiting the sick; encouraging those who feel hopeless and bound; and praying for and with our church family.
Deacons’ Ministry: The Diaconate Ministry is designed to assist the pastor in the care of the members and other persons in the community. Their most urgent task is to touch the disconnected or the loosely connected members and support the pastor’s visison for the church. (Acts 6:1; 1 Tim 3)
Ministerial Staff: The Antioch Baptist Church Ministerial Staff is a body of ordained and licensed Ministers (clergy), committed to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, given by our LORD, JESUS CHRIST, in Matthew 22:36-40 and 28:19-20. As Associate Ministers, of the Antioch Baptist Church, Hampton, Virginia, we are committed to assisting the Senior Pastor in the proclamation, pastoral care, and administrative ministries of this Church.
Sheepfold Ministry: To provide a mechanism whereby the Antioch Baptist Church can actively show concern and care for the individual member and his/her growth in the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Furthermore, to assist the Pastor in retention of membership by acting as an extension of the ministry.
Trustee Ministry: The Trustee Ministry is that of managing the church’s finances with integrity. It has the task of evaluating the conditions of the material assets of the church and the maintenance of its properties. In addition to managing and maintenance, they assist the pastor in holding up the biblical model of the tithes and offerings as the means of supporting the church (1 Cor 4:2).
EVANGELISM MINISTRY
Evangelism Ministry: The Evangelism Ministry seeks to spread the gospel, the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, to those who are unsaved and demonstrate by example discipleship to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
College Students & Military Ministry: We seek to keep in contact with military personnel, college students, and those in other areas of endeavor that are members of Antioch who are away from home. We send them biblical reading material for encouragement and other items of necessity.
Transportation (Bus) Ministry: The Transportation Ministry provides for the transportation of people to and from church related activities.
Missionary Ministry: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothing and you clothed me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (Matthew 25:35-36 NIV)
As missionaries our desire is to relieve suffering at home and abroad and to spread the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
EXALTATION MINISTRY
Exaltation Ministry: The Music Ministry of the Antioch Baptist Church seek to lead all the members and prospects of the church in a meaningful experience which glorify God, and edify the body, and lead others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ (Col 3:16).
Media Ministry: Our Mission is to equip the church and enhance the worship experience, foster spiritual motivation, and growth to the church and community.
Our Vision Statement: Through the Media Ministry we envision the ministry to effectively apply media to the service and worship experience to attract new visitors, new members, and promote their spiritual growth and enrichment.
Praise Dance Ministry: The Dance Ministry seeks to provide a time and a season for worship, encouragement, and to praise God through song and dance (Eccl. 3:4;
2 Samuel 6:14).
Senior Ushers Ministry: The Usher’s Ministry is designed to demonstrate through the gift of hospitality a presence of love, friendliness, and warmth to visitors and members upon entering the church. Also, to provide visitor cards to visitors as requested, and support the pastor and church ministries with hosting needs.
